The World Day of Prayer celebration will take place on Friday, 4th March, 2016 at 12.30 in the Chapel at the Ecumenical Centre, 150 route de Ferney, Grand Saconnex (buses 5, 28 or F). The theme is “Receive me children. Receive me” and this year the liturgy has been prepared by the Women of the churches of Cuba. Refreshments and a bake sale will be available before and after the service in the lobby. The proceeds from both the service and the sale of refreshments will go to a project in Cuba.

On Thursday, 25th February, there will be a bible study on the above theme, which will take place in the Open House of the Ecumenical Centre from 9.00 to 11.00 a.m. It will be led by Elaine Neuenfeldt who is an ordained pastor from the Evangelical Church of the Lutheran Confession in Brazil. She is the Executive Secretary, Women in Church and Society, Secretary of the Department of Theology and Public Witness at the Lutheran World Federation in Geneva. She has a doctorate in theology from the Ecumenical Institute of Graduate Studies in Sao Leopoldo in Brazil, and worked as a professor of feminist theology in Brazil and has also actively participated in the popular reading in the bible movement in Brazil.

These two events are organised by the Geneva English-speaking group for the World Day of Prayer. You are all welcome to both these events, which bring together people of different cultures and denominations in fellowship and friendship.
